DAJV Annual Meeting

10/12/2016 - 10/15/2016

Boston and Cambridge

Dear Members of the DAJV and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the fourth conference DAJV is organizing in the U.S. This year we will host our annual meeting in Boston and Cambridge on the beautiful campus of Harvard Law School.

Around 250 years ago a chain of events started in Boston that lead to the exit of 13 colonies from Great Britain and laid the foundation of the United States of America. A few weeks ago the British voted in a referendum for independence from the European Union. The consequences of the UK referendum for the fate of the European Union and the transatlantic relations are unforeseeable.  On November 8th, nearly 200 million registered voters will elect the new U.S. President. Decisive events set the stage for our conference.

We will have a panel on Brexit and its prospective impact on U.S. – European relations. Another panel will discuss domestic and global perspectives on the U.S. Presidential Election. Additional topics will be recent trends of shareholder activism in the U.S. and in Germany and legal concepts of consumer protection on both sides of the Atlantic.

As Pre-Conference Program, we are delighted to offer an interactive workshop on “cross examinations” with our colleagues of ABOTA, which will demonstrate how American trail lawyers present complex expert testimony to a jury.

We look forward to welcoming you in Boston!
