The Program
Recent Developments in U.S. Law is a weeklong program designed primarily for international attorneys seeking exposure to current issues of U.S. business law.

The program features leading New York-based attorneys who will discuss developments in their fields of expertise.  Lectures may be followed by commentary from select participants from various countries who practice in the corresponding fields of law.

Topics covered (tentatively) include Company Formation; Corporate Governance; Cross-Border Bankruptcy; Financial Reform and Compliance; Intellectual Property; International Arbitration and Litigation; Mediation:  Court-Ordered Mediation and Mediation Services; Mergers and Acquisitions; Privacy; Securities Regulation and Enforcement.

The program also includes a panel of lawyers discussing recent trends in law practice and law firm management, and a panel of corporate counsel discussing their work with outside lawyers.
   
Location
Fordham Law School, located in Manhattan, is just steps from Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, a few blocks from Central Park, and a short walk to the theater district, clubs, and restaurants that make New York City the nation’s cultural capital.

Seminars will take place at Fordham Law School and at a variety of locations in New York City, including prestigious law firms.

Housing
Fordham Law offers special rates at the Hudson Hotel, a boutique hotel conveniently located a few blocks from the Law School; or dormitory-style housing on our Lincoln Center Campus.

Networking and Other Activities
The Recent Developments Program includes lunches and cocktails at NYC law firms, where participants will have the opportunity to meet leading New York-based attorneys and program participants from around the world, and a closing certificate ceremony and dinner.

Certificates
Certificates of completion will be awarded to participants at the end of the program.

NYS CLE Credits
Fordham law will provide up to twenty six (26) transitional and non-transitional New York State CLE credits, including two (2) ethics credits. This program is offered in affiliation with a number of foreign bar associations.
