Inviting Speakers

As part of our mission to promote legal education and social contact across the Atlantic, the DAJV organizes seminars, conferences and lectures in areas pertaining to German and American law. Such presentations may take place at a variety of major German cities in step with the DAJV`s wide geographical reach.

The DAJV is always interested in establishing contact with legal specialists and invite you to approach us about giving a presentation during your stay in Germany. A speech on recent legal developments in your specialty field or other topical international legal subjects would be greatly appreciated. The customary length is ca. 45 to 60 minutes, followed by questions and discussion.

Annual Meeting on German and American Law

After holding its initial conferences in Berlin, the DAJV - in cooperation with the Georgetown University Law Center - held its first Annual Meeting on German and American Law in 2007 in Washington, D.C.  In 2009, the Association co-hosted the conference with the Boalt School of Law on the picturesque campus of the University of California, Berkeley.  Both Annual Meetings were a resounding success and brought practioners together with law students, graduate students and renowned academic experts.  These conferences include speakers, workshops, panels discussions on topics of transatlantic interest as well as an extensive offering of cultural opportunities for members and guests. Participants exchange ideas, share best practices and solutions to legal issues, but most importantly build lasting trust and relationships.
