Subscription to the Transatlantic Law Journal (TLJ) for students, legal trainees, and doctoral candidates

Students, doctoral candidates, and legal trainees have the opportunity to subscribe to the TLJ at a highly subsidized annual rate of 10 euros (1.67 euros per issue, instead of 45 euros per issue for external subscriptions). This subscription fee is in addition to the annual membership fee and is applicable in full even for those joining during the year. If you wish to cancel your TLJ annual subscription, we kindly request written notice by November 30. Declarations received thereafter will extend the subscription until the end of the following year.

After a total of five years of legal studies, the membership fee is automatically increased to 40.00 € (e.g., trainee lawyer, doctoral candidate), and then after a further three years to 100.00 € (individual member), unless the member submits without request from the DAJV, a study certificate or other proof of a still-ongoing legal education (e.g., trainee lawyer, doctoral program) by December 31st of the 5th year of legal studies at latest, and a statement that the gross income limit of 17,500.00 € per year has not been exceeded and is not expected to be exceeded in the following year.

The membership fee is due annually at the beginning of the calendar year. You will receive an invoice by mail. Here you can pay your annual membership fee. If you want to make payments using the SEPA direct debit procedure you will need to complete a SEPA Direct Debit Mandate form. Please return the completed and signed form to us by postal mail to the address listed therein. Please note that we can only accept IBAN accounts.
